SVAROG
We fundraise for projects to install renewable solar and wind energy plants on hospitals and close to water utilities, to diminish the suffering and inconvenience caused to the Ukrainian population by Russian military bombing of the country’s electricity infrastructure
Following the Russian military’s repeated massive attacks on Ukraine’s electricity infrastructure since mid-2023, all regions of Ukraine now suffer 12 hours of electricity black-outs (or more), which causes major discomfort and inconvenience to all citizens and the risk of loss of life for the old, the very young and the sick and wounded.
SVAROG is helping to finance decentralized photovoltaic power plants on hospitals roofs and close to water utilities to keep the power on during black-outs. This is the fastest, cheapest and most environmentally friendly way to responding to this emergency.

SVAROG's Emergency Project
The temperature in winter in Ukraine frequently drops to -20C. Before Russia destroyed most of Ukraine’s electricity infrastructure, elderly Ukrainians were kept warm by the heating systems in hospitals and care homes where they were lodged. Now, with the infrastructure largely destroyed, there will be no heating for them for long hours this winter. Many frail elderly people are at risk of dying from cold this winter, if they are not provided with a substitute form of heating.
The mayor of the towns of Chervonohrad and Sosnivka, in the Lviv region, has requested SVAROG programme to supply the local hospitals with up to 50 blankets equipped with its own portable battery, which is charged from the mains during hours of electricity. Our target is to gather €14,000 as emergency funding, and on 1st January we were €7,000 short. The blankets have been bought in Germany and will be transported to Ukraine in January 2025.
Please contribute whatever you can.

SVAROG's renewable Energy Fund for Ukraine (REFU)
SVAROG launched REFU in January 2025. We aim to have financed all 10 projects within the calendar year, and to be working on the next 10 projects to find finance for in 2026, and so on and so forth.
In its first tranche of projects, REFU is offering foundations ten medium-sized projects costing between €25,000 and €98,000, with an average value of €61,700. The combined value of all 10 projects comes to € 617,000.
When these projects are realized, REFU’s cumulative investment into Ukrainian renewable energy will make a big difference to communities nationwide, and will help to heighten the profile of climate-friendly energy in the country.

Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation (EAUF) is a Ukrainian NGO established in 2022 in response to the emerging energy poverty crisis in Ukraine, a consequence of the full-scale Russian invasion. The foundation primarily focuses on providing schools and hospitals with solar solutions.
The foundation initiated two campaigns in 2022 – 100SolarSchools and 50SolarHospitals aiming to install 150 hybrid solar power plants for schools and hospitals in Ukraine that suffered from Russian aggression.
Come and be part of an urgent investment in climate-friendly energy generation in Ukraine
Your Investment can play a key role in ensuring that a Ukrainian town will be able to keep its citizens safe with emergency medical services and plentiful supplies of water, by equipping the community’s hospital and water works with renewable energy power plants.
By investing, your Foundation will be doing three positive things:
Enabling hospitals or water works to continue to serve their community and save lives.
Helping Ukrainian civil society to play a key role in the country’s political life
Contributing to the spread of renewable energy in Ukraine
